It's World Poetry Day, and we're celebrating with this ode to gin from Ogden Nash - and it would be rude not to accompany that with a delicious Shortcross Wild Clover Gin Distiller's Martini, wouldn't it? Cheers!

A Drink With Something In It

by Ogden Nash

There is something about a Martini,
A tingle remarkably pleasant;
A yellow, a mellow Martini;
I wish I had one at present.
There is something about a Martini,
Ere the dining and dancing begin,
And to tell you the truth,
It is not the vermouth —
I think that perhaps it's the gin.

Distiller Dave's favourite tipple

Some like their Martinis wet. Some like them dirty. David Boyd-Armstrong, the Rademon Estate Distillery Master Distiller, likes them dry... extra dry in fact!

Dave likes to have his delicious 46% ABV Shortcross Gin shine through his Martini, adding just a touch of vermouth in a 4:1 ratio gin:vermouth to spice up yet smooth out the gin.Not that it needs any smoothing out! It's a perfect gin to sip on neat on the rocks too.

We recommend tasting Distiller Dave's Shortcross Martini and experimenting with different quantities of vermouth - or none at all - to find your perfect Shortcross serve.
